Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica reclaimed the World Championships women’s 100-metre title by winning the final in a world-leading 10.71 in Moscow, Russia a short while ago.
Fraser-Pryce won by a big margin to give Jamaica its second gold medal at the championships.
The double Olympic champion had lost the title in 2009 with a fourth place finish.
The gold medal came 24 hours after Usain Bolt reclaimed the men’s 100-metre title after a false start in 2009.
Fraser-Pryce’s Jamaican teammate Kerron Stewart finished fifth in 10.97 in a race where the top five finished under 11 seconds.
Murielle Ahoure of the Ivory Coast took the silver medal in 10.93, while American Carmelita Jeter won the bronze in 10.94.
