GTECH extends ASAP Programme to second SOS Village



A GOOD OPPORTUNITY: Luis Porcayo (left), GTECH's Regional Technology Manager, addresses children at the SOS Children's Village in Stony Hill. Porcayo encouraged students to use the facilities of the Home to further their education, remarking that he had a humble start in life and that it was education that gave him opportunities to advance. Occasion was a visit to the Home on October 16, to hand over a plaque for the newly opened computer lab at the SOS Children's Village in Barrett Town, Montego Bay. Both branches of the Children's Home received a total of 16 internet-ready computers through the GTECH After School Advantage Programme (ASAP). VISIT TO SOS CHILDREN'S VILLAGE:  In January of this year, GTECH's After School Advantage Programme equipped SOS Children's Village in Stony hill with internet ready computers. On October 16, GTECH returned to the Stony Hill location for a symbolic handing- over ceremony, as the company recently set up a computer lab at the SOS Children's Village in Barrett Town, Montego Bay. HOMEWORK HELP: Paulette Lindo (right), Programme Director at SOS Children's Village in Barrett Town, Montego Bay guides these children with their homework assignments. The GTECH After School Advantage Programme recently set up a computer lab equipped with 10 Internet-ready computers, chairs and a printer.
