Manage your time!

Time-ly message from Sidjae Walia ...

A Leader's Time

"It's not enough to be busy, so are the ants. The question is, what are we busy about?"  -  Henry David Thoreau

What are you busy doing everyday? Do you spend the majority of your time doing things you are uniquely qualified to do? One philosopher said time is what we want the most, but use the worst. It is a leader's most scarce resource, even more than money or people. Leaders are expected to balance priorities and to allot their time according to what is urgent and important.

Unfortunately, many leaders get caught up in the myriad of meetings they attend, and spend more time being busy rather than productive.

Consider your daily routine. Is it spent outing fires, attending meetings, or solving other people's problems? Are you doing work, or attending meetings that could be delegated to members of your team? Do you spend more of your time preventing fires or outing them? How will you manage your time more effectively this week?

To Your Unlimited Possibilities,
