Viv Logan lives on

Viv's classic painting of Mrs Hyacinth Gloria Chen which hangs at the NCU Nursing School built by Michael Lee-Chin in honour of his mother

Folks who have a 'Viv Logan' consider themselves truly blessed.  Viv left us after a defiant struggle with cancer, even painting it for a Festival Gold Medal creation.  She is being laid to rest today.
It was hard to believe that she had not painted all her life, but was also one of Jamaica's most admired administrators, a skill she used to create the Jamaica Artists' Guild.
Viv's portraits will continue to show the depth of her human understanding, and the meticulous quality of her work.  A fine example is the one of Hyacinth Chen installed at NCU School of Nursing.

When I saw Viv's series 'Cherubs Gone Rasta', I asked her if I could use one for the cover of my book 'Souldance'.  She unhesitatingly agreed and insisted on making it a gift.  What a thoughtful, sensitive artist she was.  Condolences to Viv's siblings, extended family and loving friends.  She lives on in her beautiful art.
